Entries for the Mogford Prize 2019 will be accepted from 5th November 2018.
The closing date is 7th January 2019.

The Mogford Hotels and Restaurants Group is inviting entries for its seventh annual short story prize.

Food and/or drink must be at the heart of the tale. The short story (no poems) could, for instance, be about crime or intrigue; about a chance meeting over a drink; a life-changing conversation over dinner; or perhaps the details of a relationship explored through food or drink. We are looking for a short story that our hotel guests would enjoy reading while staying in one of our hotels.

The short story should have a maximum of 2,500 words. There is no minimum.

Entries must be submitted in English.

Along with Jeremy Mogford there are two other judges for the Mogford Prize 2019: Julian Barnes and Tim Hayward.

Entry fee
£10 for each submitted short story.

The winner will receive £10,000.

The three runner-up entrants will received £250 each.
